If you read yesterday's, "Big Doings in Satellite Radio", you saw me give a "neutral" rating to Sirius-XM stock (ticker: SIRI). Well I'd hate to see what would happen if I had given it a "buy". The first little bit of good news we give to a stock that wasnt an energy stock (or a stock that performs when the market goes down!), and vavoom! The stock hops up 15% in a day! Maybe it was the fine tribute to Isaac Hayes that got people motivated, I'm not sure. Please scroll down if you missed yesterday. Of course we will monitor the situation as it unfolds.
Speaking of unfolding situations, oil is down to $113! Is it time for a party? Ask your friendly neighborhood airline if things are good at $113 for a barrel of oil. Or perhaps your fine SUV car dealer. They all giddy today? Um no. I keep beating a dead horse (not Mr. Ed) but come to me when oil is at $75 and then we can start to have a conversation about how "good" things are. One more little tidbit. You do realize if Russia really wants to get funny they flick a few switches and Europe gets no natural gas? I think the mainstream media in this country is playing this down a bit and talking about the Olympics or John Edwards' mistress. This is a BIG deal folks. If they flick those switches where does oil go then? $75 or $150? Right. So dont be confused by this movement. Its still tough sledding out there. We certainly arent confused by any "conflicting" stories. Certainly not like a young John Travolta playing his first big role as Vinny Barbarino some 30 years ago:
