Half Glasses, Lick the Fingers, and the Stare

My pals and I used to talk about our fondness for the old timers who were quiet but RUTHLESS. You know the types. Really smart, never said much, wore those "half glass" reading glasses, licked their fingers when they turned the pages they were reading, and if you interrupted them when they were in deep thought, they'd look up at you and nearly kill you with their stares. This, more often than not, described a lot of the Republican administration people from Reagan through the two Bushes.

Paul Volcker will be taking the stand shortly in a house committee hearing. Despite Volcker calling himself a "Democrat", he served as Reagan's Fed Chairman. And he DEFINITELY qualifies as a "half glasses" guy. As a matter of fact, I bet he wears them today. I'm going to take a WILD guess when he says today, that hedge funds and private equity guys should be allowed to make as much money as they want, BUT if they get into trouble we don't give them a thin dime for a bailout, that NO ONE from either side of the political aisle asks for his head like we saw the other day with Mr. Geithner.

If that does happen for some strange reason, it will make for an instant YouTube classic. If it does, I kind of hope old Paul takes off the glasses, drinks some water, licks his finger, turns the page he's reading, and with all 6'7" 280lbs of himself says something like, "If ANY of you want me to talk again, tell you how to fix things, and POSSIBLY save all your asses from losing your elections next time out, you have that assclown removed IMMEDIATELY." Then he waits knowing he's already gotten this guy out of office. And with silence the guy just gets up and walks out without Volcker missing beat, ".......now where was I." These are the things I pray for.

uhhhh , is it just me or didn't we just go through a massive financial crisis where not a single hedge fund was bailed out by government but a bucnh of big banks and car companies and an insurance company were bailed out in full ?

So why is Volcker going to tell us hedge funds can't be bauiled out when none were to begin with ?

I think he should be helped out to curb , put back into his 1978 AMC Pacer , thanked profusely for all his thoughts and sent off whence he came from .

You can bet the Obama'ites will NEVER allow a legit interview with any news org to be asked what he thinks about Obama's bank brreaking $3.8 trillion budget and the $8+ trillion deficit he will leave us EVEN IF EVERYTHING GOES PEREFECTLY TO PLAN!!!!
