Was watching a movie, biopic, docudrama, based on a true story on HBO last night about one "Biggie Smalls" or "Notorious B.I.G.", or "Big Poppa", or "Christopher Wallace" depending on who you are. You might remember the story of how he was a big time rapper in the early 90s from Brooklyn, who was managed by one Sean "Puff- Puffy-P.Diddy-Diddy" Combs. There seemed to be some rivalry created when a rival rapper named Tupac Shakur joined up with Death Row Records on the West Coast. They all seemed to be nice enough kids when they weren't hustlin drugs, telling violent and degrading stories, and using "MF" and the "N" word every 2 seconds. As I'm watching this movie, I smell a bit of a rat when the Sean Combs character seems to be the great record producer, friend, and all around brilliant fellow. One day Tupac gets shot (again) in Vegas and dies. In retaliation, the West Coast guys whack Biggie. The whole movie has no one fingered for either murder. At the end of the movie I watch the credits. Executive Producer of said film? One Sean Combs. Uh huh. Last I checked he's made a few bucks off of both of those guys dying right? "Biggie's" 2nd, and final album, released after his death, sold 10mm copies. 10mm. You draw your own conclusions.
Conspiracy theory #2 for today: The "Toyota Thing". Toyota's kicking the U.S.' ass all over the place in sales of cars. Somebody (or somebodies) at one (or all!) of the U.S. car companies says "hey, if we get old Jim hear on the assembly line at Toyota to just slightly make that gas pedal stick on, oh lets say 3mm Toyota cars and trucks, don't we basically crush Toyota for years and return the U.S. to dominating car sales again?" Come on people. I'm the only one who has thought of that? Tell me some Toyota executive back home isn't thinking about that one while he and the boys pound the sake at the local Benihana.
Conspiracy theory #3 for today: I do not have a printing of tomorrow's business newspaper section today. How are your short positions doing today that I told you to put on yesterday? Good. Glad to help out.
Conspiracy theory #4 for today: I DEFINITELY do NOT have tomorrow's horse racing results today. NO BLOVIATING finished 5th in the 9th yesterday at Aqueduct putting a not so nice end to what was a great "gentleman's day" at the track.
And speaking of conspiracy theories, me and Eric will be on Pete Dominick's POTUS radio show on XM 130/ Sirius 110 today at 3 pm eastern time where we will take on all things monkey about business. Until then, have a nice day. And here's to more red on your screen. Cheers.

Speaking of conspiracy theories how about this one (which has absolutely zero research behind it).
Right before Goldman got paid, the proposed Volcker rule get announced and GS stock goes down. When were their options struck? If it was the 29th, that's a nice coincidence. Right after that, people come out saying that the Volcker rule will be tough to push through...
