Stocks are up again. Must be all the good news out there. Wait.....But I did see the NY Post this morning and if this doesn't tell you the bull market is back, I don't know what does. I think.
In the Posh article, "Posh Soho House Boots 'Uncool' Members", we learn that the corporate members of the "exclusive" Soho Club in NYC are being quietly kicked out of the club as it gets back to its roots of "being a haven for power players in movies and media". Bravo Soho House. Bravo.
So basically what this states is the disdain for Wall Street even is present in the places that demand big bucks for membership in exclusive clubs! The club apparently has 4500 members with 3000 on the waiting list and they want to get it down to a "fabulous" 4000. Talk about an "A" list! Soho House had $20mm in revenue last year so by my quick math that means each member spent about $4500 each. The club is encouraging "under age 27" memberships and even requested members not wear suits and ties.
Now I can't help in the under 27 membership category, but as far as being a power player in movies and media, I mean come on! I'm right up their alley. I do foresee a problem here though. Anybody want to guess what happens if, as a member, you say the words, "Republican Party is nice" or "You see Communism ISN'T a good system like they try and teach you in college, you dopey under 27, on daddy's credit card, smoking clove cigarettes underhanded, while wealthy old fat bastard Englishmen who own the club, ogle at you because they've thrown any kind of competition of scoring young chicks out." I don't think that would get me a good member standing, no matter how many martinis I drank, and paid exhorbitantly for, by the pool.
So now that these assclowns are kicking people out in the middle of a great recession, I can't wait to see when some of their "Under 27s" go delinquent on member dues when their daddy's decide that isn't the best way to spend little Ashley or Zachary's inheritance. Good luck players. Bull Market my ass.

Mike,
Sounds good. Telly Savalas also said in those always famous Players Club International commercials, "Allllllll classssssssssss."

Hey Richie, I just dropped my membership--they can KISS IT! I'll be at Rothmann on 54/5th from now on! A real classy joint, just like Telly Savalas used to say "Who loves ya, baby?!"
