So to prove to you that I'm not a bunch of hot air, well that may be too hard to prove, I am taking logical steps to acquire the "Monkey Business Blog McMansion". I know some of you have expressed interest in joining along in our quest to become real estate moguls but for those of you who live in a cave, or haven't figured out that this is the hottest idea to come along in quite some time, you can still e-mail us at bensalzproductions@yahoo.com to let us know if you'd like to be involved in our house hunting hollabaloo. With real money. To make real money of course.
The steps I'm taking are as follows: securing a pre-qualified mortgage letter from one of these theiving banks to finance our purchase (Unless of course, we raise enough money to forego borrowing. Which is many times the right decision), studying the available foreclosed, or near foreclosed properties, in the Ft. Myers/Naples/Marco Island, FL area, and setting up a full calendar of "showings" next Monday thru Wednesday on location in Florida. All of which will be written off by the taxman as a legitimate business expense for our new business venture. (I took it easy on the government, since I know they/we have a major deficit. I'm flying coach down and back and staying in some Marriott that I won by bidding on a non-mentioned auction website for hotels. I could've stayed at the Ritz Carlton but I am not. So don't say I never helped the deficit.)
I plan on visiting 50 places and making my decision by the weekend of March 13-14. I will of course post my findings here. As well as some interesting hijinx, as I go through the process everyday. Kind of like an "inside diary" to the underpinnings of the retail real estate market in "bombed out" (technical term) southwest Florida. Exciting stuff to say the least. Besides old man Buffett just said housing will come back in 2011, which means he's already bought something(s). Stay tuned.

My uncle is a builder down in Fort Myers and the deals he is seeing are crazy. 3K square foot, 4 bdr home in a subdivision just went for 99K. The house had never even been lived in!
Good luck.
