Editor's Note--The Dow Jones may climb 1000 points this week! Jumpin Jiminy, a mere 30 years ago, the Dow was AT 1000! Not no more my friends. Some say, however, that there lurks some danger and RISK in the financial markets. Just around the corner. That may be the case, but I have my pedal to the metal as others say. And proud of it. Speaking of proud, when you play 6 games, and you win 5 of those pretty easily, and lose just ONE by a whisker, you might get the gout from all your lobster and champagne imbibing, no? Richie, we were very thankful for our heaping helpings of turkey, lobster, and champagne, last week, no doubt. And for pikers and peasants, 5-1 might be great. But we strive for PERFECTION every week, so even a 6-0 is just ok in these parts. Since there is a bit of a limited card in the college, we only have one selection there. But it's a doozy. In the NFL, our customary 3 picks. Here we go............
Everyone is looking at the Big 10 championship game, on primetime Saturday night. Lots of people saying Wisconsin will get revenge from the heartbreaking loss in the regular season to the SPARTANS of MICHIGAN STATE, on the last play of the game. You know what the score was when MICHIGAN STATE threw the "Hail Mary" to win the game? 31-31. That means MICHIGAN STATE might NOT have lost, even if they didn't complete the pass. Oh, and the revenge factor is nice, but Wiscy is supposed to be a 9.5 point favorite? Not with Big D's money, baby. Maybe we'll see another "Hail Mary" attempt to decide the game. When we are getting 9.5 points, we'll smile all night with that. And WIN.
Then on Sunday, we have 3 of the most splendiferous underdogs playing in the league right now, against some of the worst favorites. Matchups made in heaven, and made for our wallets. Who? You might ask? What are you an owl? We're talking about the RAYYYYYYYYYDUHHHS, da BENGALS, and the sleek CARDINALS in the desert. Playing the crappy at home fish, the overvalued steelers, and howboutthem horrible road favorite cowboys, respectively. We likey. We takey. We winnie. God bless.
So a mere 4 plays this weekend but when you win em all, you won't be complainin, pally. MICHIGAN STATE+9.5 vs wisconsin, OAKLAND+2.5 @ miami, CINCY+7 @ pittsburgh, and ARIZONA+4.5 vs dallas. Goooooooooooooo baby.
