Editor's Note--Welp, the Eagles sure didn't get off the bus last Sunday versus the G-men. But luckily neither did the Bears or Cowboys, well much anyway. 2-1 record in the NFL for those who went along with Large Richard. And look at this, the NFL playoffs are upon us. Normally, these games are sooooooooo difficult to decipher. The bookmaker gets to study really well because there's only 4 games on the slate. 2 on Saturday. 2 on Sunday. Now then, why does Big D have a smile on his face like the Cheshire Cat? Let's find out, eh??!?!--R.B.
Richie, we are very excited about the NFL postseason. 4 games this week. 4 games the next. 2 after that. Then the BIG game. That's 11 choices. Well 22 if you count the Over/Unders. WHICH we do. Whole lotta fun. Here we go.
It's gonna be cold, and maybe even snowy in Green Bay on Saturday night. For the rematch between the Vikes and the Pack. Not sure if that was a fluke that the Vikes won last week. What wasn't a fluke is that both defenses have trouble stopping the other guys' offenses. Snow, schmo. Cold, mold. 46 is the total? OVER in Green Bay, baby. O-V-E-R.
"Ray Ray" Lewis is quitting as soon as the Ravens lose. He has a nice ESPN gig waiting for him. Well, if our studying is correct, and most of the time it IS, he might be able to cover the Divisional Playoffs NEXT week for ESPN, because we wouldn't be so shocked if INDY wins outright in Baltimore. You say balderdash? Quick, who was the last defensive coordinator of the Ravens before this year? Why it was none other than Chuck Pagano. Head coach of the COLTS. You watching the last 6 weeks of the season? Who is waaaaaaaaay hot? Who is waaaaaaaaaaaay cold? Now you are going to give us 6.5 points? Not 3 points? Thank you bookmaker. Take.
Finally, we did a quadruple take when we saw this line. Yeah, yeah, yeah we are well aware of how "awesome" Seattle is this year. How about this now handsome. If Seattle couldve gone just 4-4 this year on the road INSTEAD of 3-5, they would be playing this game at home. Where they are very tough. Like a wiseman once told Big Dick, "there's a REASON that certain teams play on the road in the playoffs, and certain teams are at home." Yep. One is better than the other. Only, in this case, the bookmaker has deemed Seattle favorites by 3 points. AT WASHINGTON. You think the 100,000 REDSKIN fans wont be loud for their first playoff game since 1999? Friends, this line is off by 4 or 5 points. You RARELY get this anytime in the NFL, let alone the playoffs. Which is why BIG DICK'S 2013 PLAYOFF LOCK OF THE YEAR is quite simply, WASHINGTON getting 3 at HOME! We are crying with joy. Truly.
The happy recap? OVER 46 GB/Minnesota, INDY+6.5 @ Baltimore, and the lock of the year: WASHINGTON+3 vs Seattle.
Come Sunday night, no matter what kind of fan you are, this will be your favorite song. Trust us. Check back with us on Monday for the National Championship play in the college. Otherwise, good luck. god bless. enjoy.
