Editor's Note--First there's this:
Then there's this:
Finally there's always this:
Well then. Did he do it again or what?! "He" being Big D. "What" being Perfect. Again. Did Atlanta and Seattle have a nifty track meet? Did GREEN BAY and Dallas come down to a field goal, with Dallas losing another meaningful game? Did Big Ben not look so good, despite winning in UNDERRRRR fashion? Yes all of these things happened. Just like the grand sage said!! Yes 3-0!! Winninggggggggggggg. Well, now we have the "Final Four" of the NFL. The Championship games. The bookmaker might not even TAKE your wagers this Sunday. So make sure Uncle Joe or Aunt Phyllis are around to place em for you baby! Big D you HAVE THE ENTIRE FLOOOOOOOOOOOR!!--R.B.
Thanks Richie for the kind words. But enough with the small talk. We got pickin to commence.
These 2 in the 1st game squared off earlier this year. 33-32 was the final. Not a lot separating these 2. The bookmaker made it the highest Over/Under in about 8 years in ANY NFL game. Forget about a playoff game. Its the highest total EVER in a playoff game. You know what we say? So what. Everything clickin for both teams. Inside the dome. Perfect conditions. OVER in the A-T-L baby.
Speaking of not much separating these two, the one thing that does seem to be, is the pointspread, pal. Do you wanna be playing the PACKERS right now'? Yeah? Ask the Cowboys. So we could see warm Atlanta laying 3, being at home. But 5.5? Perhaps inching up to 6 by game time?!? Not with our GREEN, friend. Not with our GREEN. There is NO ONE hotter than GREEN BAY. Who are we to say when they lose, if at all? Who is ANYONE to say that? Shall we state it again? Does this smell like ANOTHER Field Goal game? It sure does, handsome. Takey. Take.
Quick!! Tawwwmy Brady has his best record against which team? The Jacksonville Jaguars. Quick!! Who is his 2nd best record against? Pittsburgh, pal. That's kind of surprising right? Yep. Good ol Tawwwwwm is 9-2 lifetime and a very impressive 26 TDs and a mere 3 PICKS vs the "Stillers". When it comes to the spread though he is 6-5. That's a bit of a toss up. Besides, both teams have been winning and covering like champions. So we will pass on the point spread. The TOTAL HOWEVER, is a much different ball of wax. Pittsburgh KNOWS Mr. Bell, their star RB, will have to run like he has been, to keep that fancy Tawwmmy and his New England mates OFF the field, and give Pitt a legitimate shot to go to the Big Game. He may or may not be able to, but gosh darnit, Coach Tomlin will try. And keep in mind, earlier this year, New England beat Pittsburgh at Pittsburgh (without Big Ben and before they got smokin hot) using Mr. Blount, the Patsies star RB, quite a bit. Can you scream "TICK! TICK! TIIIIIIIIIIICK!" Last 5 playoff games UNDER for Pittsburgh. Last 20 of 27 on the road have gone UNDER for Pittsburgh. And most importantly, and probably not well known?!? New England is 5-1 UNDER in their last 6 Conference Championship Games. For as many fireworks we expect in Game 1, we expect just as much grittiness and grinding football, in Game 2. 51 points? Thanks again bookmaker. UNDER in Foxboro.
The "let's keep the perfection train rolling" happy recap: GREEN BAY+ 5.5 at Atlanta, OVER 61 Atl/GB, and UNDER 51 NE/Pitt.
We've gotten away from the Motown sound for awhile. Not sure why with songs like this. Spread the love of course! Gonna make you love me indeed. Enjoy the video on the "really big shoe" stage with Mr Sullivan. Enjoy the games. Good luck and god bless!
