Editor's Note--Greetings from Nevada. I'm about to head back into the Contest to determine a World Champion of Horse Racing. After Day 1, I am in mid pack. I did NOT think yesterday was too good for me. So let's see if Day 2 and 3 can bring some good days and a move up the standings. Speaking of up the standings, Big D is here. Fresh off ANOTHER winning week. 2-1. He's got 3 more choices. This time for the Final Four Saturday!! Take it away, Big D!!--R.B.
Yes, Richie, here we are in Sin City. A couple of unlucky turns of foot for you yesterday. Let's see what the rest of the tournament does for you. And while we are at it, how bout the baskets?
SOUTH CAROLINA now wears the slippers of Cinderella. They are winning and covering more than anyone left in the tournament, including their foe Saturday, Gonzaga. Congrats to both teams for making it for the 1st time to the Final Four. 7 points just seems an AWFUL lot for a game that smells of buzzer beater, doesn't it? It does. Also, these teams both got here with their DEFENSE. A 138 point total tells us Mr. Oddsmaker sees this game in the 70s. Not us friends. More like 60s. UNDERdog and UNDER in game 1 baby.
In the "marquis" game, people haven't learned their lessons. Last week, the Kentucky vs UNC game shot waaaay up on the total and we snapped up an easy UNDER win. This week? Same thing. We now stand at a 152.5 total. Let us ask you this handsomes. Does Oregon think they can win by running up and down with these Tar Heels? With their best big guy injured? Not with our money, pal. UNDER again in the desert sun of Arizona.
The happy "Final Four" recap: S.CAROLINA+7 vs Gonzaga, UNDER 138 S.CAR/Gonz, UNDER 152.5 UNC/Oregon
And best of luck to the HPWS contestants, by Saturday eve someone is going to be about 500k richer. Go Richie B. Go. Good luck. God bless, Enjoy the games.
