Editor's Note--Remember this guy?
Spain won 1-0 FYI. Nice work Paul. Big D uses different methodologies to make his choices but he wins too. Hopefully, you didn't put an equal amount on the 4 choices last week, as Jacksonville was almost a 4-1 shot to win outright. If you put a less on that? Then congrats. You won. If you did, you split. Speaking of split, I'm about to board flight 777 to the city that really never sleeps, Las Vegas. Where the REAL glitterati hang out for Super Bowl Sunday. No offense to Minnesota, but we'll take 75 degrees outside versus 0 degrees, more often than not. Big D is all done with his studyin and has thrown in a "special" selection, too. So take it away Biiiiig D for this Suuuuuuuuuper Weekend. --R.B.
Thank you Richie. See you tonight at the VIP Lounge. And by all means, if any of you are in Nevada this weekend, let us know. We might even get you past the velvet rope. No promises though.....Now for the picks.
This is a pretty tough one as Super Bowls go. We do know NO Super Bowl that Tom (or as Richie likes to say? TAAAAAAAAAAAWM) Brady has been in has the final score been decided by more than 6 points either way. That would certainly lead us into taking the underdog with the 4.5 points. However, Tom's team is 12-0 the last 12 times they laid 7 or less. That would lead us to them. However again, Conference Champion underdogs who win outright are 9-0 in the last 9 chances in the Super Bowl. That puts us with the dogs wearing a dog mask. And finally...Tom's team is 1-4 as a favorite in the Super Bowl....
Yes we know a majority of the money is on PHILLY in Nevada, but it looks like we will add to the pile. PHILTHYDELPHIA barks all the way to the bank with that fancy defense, and that now fancy again QB FOLES. We'd put a little on the EAGLE money line at close to 2-1 as well, since the straight up winner has covered the spread in 11 of 12 BIIIIG GAMES. Chances are if it's close, which it sounds like it will be, PHILLY will find a way to win. Enjoy the game.....AND the post game.
We'll also take 1 funny shot at LAGARRETTE BLOUNT on the prop bet to score the first TD at 10-1. Tom Brady has been to the Super Bowl 7 times. So have the EAGLES. As in all 60 dudes combined on PHILLY have played in 7 Super Bowls. One EAGLE cat has been there twice. That's BLOUNT. WITH THE PATRIOTS. You dont think the PHILADELPHIA coaches want LAGARETTE to score first to play a little mind game with Bellycheck for lettin him go?!?! Yes.
The happy "SUPER BOWL" recap? PHILADELPHIA+4.5 vs New England. PHILADELPHIA +2-1 money line vs New England. LAGARRETTE BLOUNT to score the 1st TD at 10-1
Good luck and god bless. And all this talk about octupii and picking got us thinking. We like the elephant too.
