Editor's Note--Well, when last seen, Big D had the winner in the Preakness. He also had the winner in the basketball. And look what we have now.....The Belmont Stakes. AND the basketball. That sounds like some good events. It's gonna be even better when we profit from them! Here he is, probably at some flashy home in the Hamptons, getting ready to board a yacht tomorrow to Belmont Park. Or maybe a chopper. Anyhooooo, let's gooooooooooo--R.B.
Yes, Richie, we had JUSTIFY as a winner in the last race, but we didn't hit the exotic plays. Let's see if we can't put it altogether for the Belmont....But first the baskets.....
The Cavs look all but done. It's never happened where a team has gone down 0-3 in the Finals and come back to win the next 4. It does happen though that the team wins 1 game or 2. We're not sure which Cleveland team shows up. But we gotta believe there might be an effort put forward. Not sure that's enough against a stacked Golden State Team. But Cleveland has gone UNDER 12 of 16 at home, and Golden State has gone UNDER 20 of 28 on the road. That says 216 is too high a total, pal. UNDER in Oh-hi-oh tonight baby.
Now the Triple Crown. Lots being said about how if the #1 JUSTIFY runs like he did again in the Preakness? He will lose. Maybe even if he DOESNT run like he did in the Preakness, he will lose. At odds of 4-5, you ain't gettin paid a whole lot to take the risk, that we will have our 13th Triple Crown of all time. JUSTIFY is no doubt, one tough hombre, but this will be BY FAR, his toughest race, in his short career. We have the utmost respect for his connections, and if anyone can pull this off, it's trainer "Silver Fox" Bobby Baffert, who did it just a few years back with "da Pharoah". And we're gonna include him, but not to win, handsomes.
Now many logical people who have read that previous paragraph will say, "oh Big D is gonna pick that horse that came in 2nd to JUSTIFY in the Preakness, bravazo". And those people would be WRONG. Nope. Here is the answer to our riddle in the title.....If you wager on something at 10-1, how much does your bankroll go up? Pretty close to TENFOLD doesn't it?!? Well, TENFOLD the #7 was 3rd in the Preakness, and he was stormin pretty good comin down that lane. His jockey, Ricardo Santana, and trainer, Steve Asmussen, may not be household names, but they should be. They win LOTS of races. And this price is gonna be 10-1 or better. It's gonna be TENFOLD passing tired horses down the stretch to win the Belmont Stakes!
Finally, like the old commercials for E.F. Hutton, when trainer Billy Mott talks? People listen. Or at least they should. Cause he doesn't talk much. But when he does, look out. Mott trains HOFBURG the #4. He will most likely be 4-1 or so. Mott is downright giddy (for him!) about the way HOFBURG is coming into this race. He will have the horse close coming into the stretch and have him explode down the lane.
So the happy "Triple Crown" recap: Tonight: UNDER 216 Golden State/Cleveland. Saturday: Belmont Stakes: #7 to win. 1-4-7 exacta box. 1-4-7 trifecta box.
Best of luck. God bless. And enjoy the baskets and the horse racing. And if you are going to the races? Look for us in the luxury boxes.....
