Hello all! Yes I am back from my insane trip that Eric mentioned that I wont do again anytime soon. Oh it was fun, but trust me when I say I need a vacation from my vacation. I must say the resorts I visited were pretty crowded (however a lot of Europeans taking advantage of the strong--albeit weaker from its highs--Euro). Even the cruise I was on was full. Of course, they practically gave away the last few cabins in terms of price (as you might guess, your humble correspondent was all over those giveaways!). So either people were happy to max out their credit cards to enjoy a little R&R or the economy might be finding a bottom. I'm not sure which yet. But of course, I'll let you know when I know.
However, now that I am back I am going to go "work" today at the Porterhouse Open. Yep as we told you a little while back, www.porterhouseopen.com is being exclusively covered by www.monkeybusinessblog.com ! So I'm going to be playing a few holes and then interviewing a few participants on what they think the state of the economy is and all sorts of other interesting stuff. From what I can tell, this is going to be a unique look at how charity golf outings operate. I can also say from experience that this particular outing is a good one. Complete with hijinx during the day on the course and a very valuable live auction right after dinner, we will be there covering every nook and cranny. We'll edit the footage as quickly as possible and have it up on the site soon!
In the meantime, as we keep saying, stay away from the markets, and better yet if you are in the New York Tri-State area, come on out to Willow Ridge Country Club in Harrison, NY today and have a real good time. If you can't make it out, dont fret you'll be able to watch it on these pages soon. Now if you will excuse me until tomorrow, I must hit the practice green and the driving range as those closest to the pin and longest drive contests will be MINE! See you tomorrow.
