repeat after me: banks go back to taking deposits and making loans. should be pretty easy to calculate what a "bank" is worth if we throw away all the garbage you mention, then simply multiply the lending book times the net interest margin

one positive to JPM is attracting a TON of assets to custody in their private bank in a flight to quality due to LEH & BST failures & credit risks of other financials that are still alive.
